Russell Allen Pallas, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He had a great sense of humor, and became “fast-friends” with everyone that he met.
Russell was born October 23, 1958, in Warwick, Rhode Island, to Russell Allen Pallas, Sr. and Madeline (Ritchotte) Pallas. He had one brother, Robert. As a result of Russell Sr. serving in the United States Navy, they lived in various locales, including Massachusetts and California, finally settling in his early teens in Raymond, New Hampshire.
He graduated from Raymond High School and immediately reported to Parris Island, South Carolina to attend United Stated Marine Corps bootcamp. He later joked that he pushed so hard to graduate bootcamp “because he did not want to be anywhere on the island for Christmas”. He served as an MP (5811) for his duration in The Marines as his intention was to become a police officer in the civilian world.
Russell became a police officer and served the communities of Raymond and Meredith part-time while also working alongside his father at GE Aerospace. He later joined the Gilford Police Department full-time as an officer and eventually became and retired as a Detective. One of his favorite - and proudest - stories was finding a young girl that was lost in the woods. He said “it was all in a day’s work”.
He later went back to school and received his B.S. in Computer Science and went to work as a Business Specialist at Apple Inc. His strong sales skills led him to technical sales with companies such as CADDEDGE, M2, and Comcast Business. He also owned his own private investigation company, and worked as a mortgage originator for Stonegate Mortgage company.
Russell has two children, Melissa Brianne and Russell Allen III. They were his pride and joy and every conversation he held with friends was permeated with updates on their current lives. Russell always instilled how necessary education was to succeed in the world. He worked diligently to instill a sense of purpose in his children, insisting that education and knowledge were the keys to success, but also taught that being a person you’d be proud to know was most important.
Russell had many interests - he enjoyed flying airplanes, hunting, fishing with Mark and young Russell, cooking, and smoking yummy meats on his treasured four - yes, four - smokers. Alongside him, his smoking buddies were Jack his dog and the kitties Hurley and Dunkin, who would sit outside with him and wait patiently through the sometimes eight to ten hour cooks.
Russell is survived by his wife, Carrie of Manchester, NH; daughter Melissa and her husband Dan Bell; son Russell, III, of Manchester, NH; brother Bob; mother - in - law Linda C. (Guinesso) Almeida and sister - in - law Carlene L. Almeida of Hooksett, NH; Mark and Angela Barmby, Carl and Kathy Guinesso, Jason, Dani, and Ellie Guinesso, Gerald and Dawn Guinesso all of Auburn, NH; Mark Barmby, Jr. of Pembroke, NH; and many cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his father Russell, Sr. and absolutely adored his mother, Madeline, now residing in Palm Springs, California.
The profound loss of Russell will be felt by many who were lucky enough to know - and love - him. The world has lost a beautiful person, but remember that someday - if you BELIEVE - we will see him again. Russell - with his strong Catholic faith - certainly knew this.
Assisting the family with arrangements is Phaneuf Funeral Home, Manchester. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral Chapel in Manchester, NH with committal directly after at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
Russell asks - in lieu of flowers - that donations be made to animal rescues/animal charities
