Ruth Mary (Lamell) Archambault

February 18, 1927 — January 3, 2023

Northfield

Ruth Mary (Lamell) Archambault, 95, went to sleep on the 3rd day of January, 2023 at her families home in Northfield. She was born on February 18th, 1927 in Burlington, Vermont to the late Henry and Helen (Vincent) Lamell. She spent her childhood in Burlington, Vermont with her family.

She was the wife of the late Donald Edward Archambault. Both Ruth and Donald had previous marriages but managed to find true love in each other. They spent many years moving between Florida and New Hampshire, spending time with family, camping, and especially going for long car rides in their Cadillac Fleetwood. Ruth loved to go to lunch, shopping, and the movies. When she had the chance, she loved to read her who-done-it books, knit and play games.

Her final road trip adventure was at 94 years old. Ruth was living in a nursing home in Florida and her daughter Laurie, granddaughter Beth, and great-granddaughter Patricia went to Florida to visit and Ruth told them how lonely she was there. They asked her if she wanted to live out her days in New Hampshire in their home. She cried, laughed, and cried some more then said “we’re breaking out of jail!” So she waved goodbye to Florida and headed to New Hampshire. She got to spend the last year and a half of her life with family including her daughter Laurie, ex-son-in-law, Lenny, granddaughter Beth and her husband Nick, her great-granddaughters Ashley and Patrica and her 2 little dogs, Lily and Vylet that loved to snuggle all day with her.

She had an amazing team of caregivers during this time that treated her just like family including Marie, Lori, Evanthia, Theodora, Jolene, Sydney, Isabella and Debbie. They surrounded her with love and helped give her a quality of life beyond measure. We will forever be grateful they were part of her life.

She is survived by a sister Geraldine LeRoy of New York, daughter Laurie Archambault of Northfield, NH, ex-son-in-law, Lenny Hough of Sanbornton, NH, granddaughter Beth and her husband Nick Wolf of Northfield, NH, great-granddaughters Ashley Wolf of Manchester, NH and Patricia Engelhardt and her family of Barnstead, NH, a nephew Tom LeRoy of New York and a niece Debra LeRoy-Elliott of New York.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter Jennifer Engelhardt, a great-grandson Brandon Wolf, 2 sisters Kathleen Lamell and Shirley (Lamell) Vale and a nephew Randall Bombard.

Other family includes 2 sons Bruce and Douglas, 2 daughters Pauline and Glenna, a niece Daina, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
