Ruth A. Poisson

RUTH A. POISSON Ruth A. (Thurston) Poisson, 98, of Manchester, died April 9, 2008 at Villa Crest Nursing Home, following a brief illness. She was born in Manchester on November 28, 1909, the daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Kemp) Thurston and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School. She retired from J F McElwain Shoe Company after many years of service. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Manchester and a member of AARP. Family members include; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Poisson was predeceased by her husband, Henri A. Poisson. IN HER LIFE: Mrs. Poisson was predeceased by her two sisters, Olive Pratt and Kathryn Taryla and by two brothers, Frank Thurston and Clyde Thurston. A calling hour will be Friday, April 11, from 11:30 A.M. – 12:30 PM at First United Methodist Church, 961 Valley Street, in Manchester. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 P.M. in the church. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church, 961 Valley Street, Manchester, NH 03103, in memory of Mrs. Poisson.
