Ruth Elizabeth (Tilton ) Walter, 77, of Chichester, NH passed on July 27, 2026, in Concord, NH.

She was born on October 8th, 1948, in Laconia, NH to Harold and Lillian Tilton. Ruth attended Tilton Northfield High school where she graduated in 1966. After graduation, she attended Hair dressing School.

On May 4th, 1968, she married the love of her life, Richard C. Walter Sr. Together they have shared 58 wonderful years of love, laughter, and kindness.

Ruth worked in the Franklin School system while her children were young. She then worked for Ames department store for over 15 years. After years of retail, she moved onto her next journey as the Secretary of the Board of Massages for the State of New Hampshire, where she retired to begin her final career move: Taking care of her beloved grandchildren. This was her favorite “job”.

Ruth found joy in reading books, especially Danielle Steel novels. She loved to watch Classic TV shows, listen to Elvis Presley and was an avid NASCAR and Soccer fan.

Ruth is predeceased by her brother Raymond H. Tilton.

She is survived by her husband Richard C. Walter Sr; her children, Richard C. Walter Jr., Lisa Walter – Saturley, and Timothy Walter; Her four grandchildren; Michael Walter, Gabriana Walter, Alex Walter, and Anthony Saturley as well as her great- grandchildren; Evelyn and Owen Walter; Her sister, Susan (Tilton) Dupuis and her Husband, Paul Dupuis; and many nieces and nephews.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Concord Hospital and the Granite VNA for their compassionate care.

A graveside service will be held at noon on Thursday, August 6th, at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:30 at Alan’s of Boscawen Restaurant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Granite VNA in Ruth’s memory.
