Sally Ash

Sally (Bunnell) Ash (85), died July 31, 2023 at Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH. She was born on January 03, 1938 in Belmont, NH, the daughter of the late Ray and Eleanor (Laclair) Bunnell.

She attended Laconia High school in Laconia, NH. Shortly after she met her future husband, the late, George J. Ash, Sr. and they were married on August 28, 1956 in Webster, NH. She traveled the world with George as a Marine wife and soon after as a mother. After her husband George retired from the Marines they returned to New Hampshire where she worked at Beede Electric for 20 years till her retirement.

Those who knew Sally knew she had a love for her kids and grandkids. She welcomed everyone like family. She always had a smile that could warm a room and always was up for a cup of coffee and something sweet. She loved playing bingo, spending time visiting with family, and cheering on the New York Yankees.   

She could always be heard saying as you walked away, I love all of you! She will be dearly missed by all the knew her.

Sally was predeceased by Jack Bunnell, Beverly (Bunnell) Smith.

She is survived by her sister, Rae (Bunnell) Gamblin;  sons James Ash of Manchester, George Ash, Jr of Concord; grandchildren Peter Ash of Penacook, Daniel Ash and wife Lainey of Laconia, George Ash III of Mill Springs, Cassidy Ash of Mill Springs, and Cameron Ash of Mill Springs; great grandchildren Aiden Ash, Jordan Ash, Cameron Ash, Mariah Ash, Ada Ash; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.

SERVICES: Gathering will be held 9-11am, August 14, 2023 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen, NH with memorial service to follow at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Graveside service will be at the Franklin cemetery immediately following the memorial service.
