Sandra M. Hersey

Sandra M. Hersey, 78 of Salem, NH died on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence in Salem, NH. Surrounded by loved ones after a courageous fight with Cancer.
Ms. Hersey was born on October 28, 1942, in Lynn, MA the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Spinney) Hersey. She grew up in Lynn, MA and attended local schools there.
Sandy was a kind hearted woman who loved helping others, so much she made a profession out of it. She was a nurses aid in her younger years as she loved to take care of people, She loved her job so much she would always tell her Hospice caregivers and new friends she met how much she loved taking care of people and sad she had to stop, due to her shoulder issues. She had to find other jobs that weren't so stressful on her shoulders, she worked in the laundry room at nursing facilities, she also worked in the deli at Stop and Shop, and worked in a Bakery.
Her hobbies and interests include; Crocheting baby blankets and clothes for the newest additions, needlepoint, and other crafts making flower arrangements and accents for weddings. She picked up a new hobby doing Diamond Painting.
Her biggest pleasure however, was caring for her family, helping them in anyway she can, despite coming from a modest background she would give in anyway she could, even as it was obvious she was at the end of her life she still offered to fix clothes and help pay bills. She was the epitome of Grace, Joy, and Love and will be missed by her large family.
Members of her family include; her daughter, Mary Hersey, of Salem, MA; her daughter, Charlotte Hersey, of Caldwell, Idaho; her daughter, Gale Noell, of NH; her son John White, of Salem, NH; predeceased by her son David White, of Lynn, MA. Many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
She was one of 9 children, being the middle child she had 4 older siblings; Doris (Living), David (Deceased), Fred (Living) and Kenny (Deceased); 4 younger siblings; Charlotte (Living), Joanne (Deceased), John (Deceased), Beverly (Deceased).
SERVICES: There will be a Graveside service in Lynn, MA at the Pinegrove Cemetery TBD.
It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center , in memory of Ms. Hersey.
