IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra L.
Hoffmeister
November 22, 1942 – February 14, 2026
Sandra Lee (Morin) Hoffmeister, 83, of Hill Village, NH, passed away on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Sandi was born on November 22, 1942, in Concord, NH, to Joseph Morin and Constance (Gray) Morin. She was married to the love of her life, Frederick J. Hoffmeister, for 61 years.
Sandi was a proud member of the Concord High School Class of 1960 and graduated from New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Boston, MA, in 1963. She spent over 30 years working as a Registered Nurse. Early in her career, she cared for children with complex behavioral health issues in Boston and provided innovative home care for a brain-injured child in Pittsfield, MA. Sandi worked in several long-term care facilities and as a Hospice Nurse on Cape Cod, where she played a key role in establishing hospice care for nursing home patients in Massachusetts.
While raising her family in Pittsfield, MA, Sandi found success as a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant, even earning the honor of driving a Pink Cadillac, much to her children's embarrassment! She was also a talented quilter, intricately hand-sewing her creations and acquiring a large collection of fabric and unfinished projects that she dreamed of completing one day. Her grandchildren have fond memories of staying up late with Grandma Sandi, who never went to bed early. They enjoyed watching the Olympic skating she loved and playing games of “Clue” together.
After raising their three children, Sandi and Fred returned to New Hampshire and became innkeepers of the Maria Atwood Inn in Franklin, NH. For 20 years, Sandi’s calm and healing presence nurtured her guests around the dining table, while her scrumptious scones rejuvenated their souls.
Sandi was preceded in death by her brother, David Morin. She is survived by her husband, Frederick Hoffmeister; daughters Christine (Stephen) Mehigan of Maitland, FL, and Kimberly (Andrew) Barbas of Plymouth, MA; son Marc (Gayle) Hoffmeister of Littleton, CO; grandchildren Aster and Grace Mehigan, Justin (Casey) and Connor Barbas, Robert John and Shane (Ashley) Saiz; great-grandchildren Brecken, Bodie, and Baylor Barbas, and Harland Saiz; and sister-in-law Connie Jo Morin.
The family looks forward to sharing memories of Sandi with friends and family at a Celebration of Life to be held later. In Sandi’s memory, please consider planting a lilac in the spring or baking and sharing a batch of scones. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Edna McKenna Trust Fund at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 03303, or to the Mother’s Milk Bank Northeast, Newton, MA, at www.milkbankne.org.
