Sharon Ann Turmelle, 77, of Concord died peacefully at home on December 23, 2020 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 13, 1943 in Littleton to the late Fredrica Hope Flynn and Timothy Peter Flynn, M.D., Sharon was raised in Lancaster with her three sisters where they were commonly known as "the Flynn girls." Sharon graduated from Lancaster High School and held a Bachelor of Education from Plymouth State College. She taught fifth grade and high school history and shared her love of learning with her grandchildren. Sharon was a one-woman lending library for her stepdaughters with volumes from her extensive personal library. She also enjoyed reading, photography, birdwatching, and took great joy in the antics of her parakeet "Rainbow." A generous woman with a pragmatic outlook on life, Sharon's kindness, sense of humor, and love will be missed. She was predeceased by her devoted husband of 23 years, Jules Roger Turmelle and by two sisters, Fredrica (Ricky) Griffin and Patricia Pelletier.
She is survived by daughter Kelly (Mason) Lloyd of Lake Luzerne, NY, son Kevin Mason of Concord, stepdaughters Elizabeth (Turmelle) Valway of Portsmouth, Jennifer (Turmelle) Boulanger of Northwood, Joanne (Turmelle) Forrest of Acton, MA, Amy (Turmelle) Gilbert of Fort Collins, CO; many grandchildren; a sister, Maureen LaCasse of Old Lyme, CT; and nieces, and nephews.
