Sheldon Mayer

Sheldon “Shelly” Mayer, 56, of Goffstown, passed away at Catholic Medical Center on October 14, 2010.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 21, 1954, the son of Jack and Gertrude Mayer, and had lived in Concord, MA for many years before moving to NH 2 ½ years ago. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and a life member of the D.A.V. He liked fixing cars and tinkering with anything mechanical. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and photography. He was also very artsy and creative.

In His Life: Family members include his wife of 37 years, Diane (Lehrer) Mayer; a son, Jason Mayer and his wife Anna of Sand Diego, CA; two daughters, Leslie Mayer and her husband Charlie, of Hamilton, Ontario Canada and Heather Mayer of Goffstown; two grandchildren; Sophie and Isabella Mayer of San Diego, CA; and a half sister, Sheila Curiale of NY.

Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to Noon. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at Noon. Committal services with military honors are scheduled for Wednesday at 1:30 PM in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
