Shirley Guillemette, 89, of Manchester, NH, daughter of Lawrence & Lillian Gagnon (Boisvert) was welcomed by the angels on June 8, 2021, after enduring the devastating effects of Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Manchester on February 13, 1932, Shirley spent most of her career in healthcare during which she worked as a nurse's aide at the Elliot Hospital and later worked in an ENT office until her retirement. Shirley's children might say she could have a stubborn streak, but she loved and adored her family near and far and had a big heart.
Shirley's hobbies included traveling, gardening, collecting seashells, crossword puzzles and reading. Married to Normand W. Guillemette for 54 years, they enjoyed summering in York Beach, Maine and wintering in Englewood, Florida. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Donna L. Guillemette, sons Jeffrey Guillemette (wife Lana) & Bruce Guillemette (wife Janice), daughter-in-law Donita Guillemette and son-in-law John Stewart, her grandchildren Matthew T. Guillemette (wife Sara), Justin Guillemette (wife Holli), Steven Guillemette (fiancée Bridgett), Jacob Guillemette, Hannah Stewart, Sarah Guillemette (fiancé Chanwit), Kayla & Lauren Guillemette, her great-grandchildren Jacob M. & Alexander Guillemette, Kaylee Guillemette, Joshua & Lucas Guillemette, her brother George L. Gagnon and many nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her husband Normand, daughter Debra Stewart (Guillemette), son Thomas Guillemette, her sister Louise Gagnon and brothers Thomas & David Gagnon.
SERVICES: A mausoleum service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 17, 1 PM at Mount Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester.
The Guillemette family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at The Inn at Deerfield, Amedisys Hospice and to family friend Nichole Felix who spent many weekends keeping Shirley company and caring for her as her disease progressed.
