Shirley M. Lahar, age 86, of Loudon, NH died on October 17, 2010 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Donald H. Lahar, who passed away on February 17, 2010 after almost 61 years of marriage. They were married on June 18, 1949.
She was born in Concord, NH on April 24, 1924, daughter of the late Thomas and Mae Andrews. She graduated from the Concord High School in 1942. Prior to moving to Loudon in 2001, she resided in Bow for more than 40 years.
Shirley worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was also employed as an Administrative Assistant and Church Secretary. She was also a bookkeeper for the 2 businesses that she and her husband started. These were Mr. Sparkle and Family and the Windsong Frame and Gift Shop.
Mrs. Lahar was a long time member since September 1956, of the Center Point Church (formerly First Baptist Church). She was very active within the church as nursery coordinator and as a coordinator of fellowship dinners and agape suppers.
She is survived by three children, Scott B. Lahar of Loudon, Linda and her husband, Dennis Prusia of Concord, Aaron and his wife, Karen Lahar of Loudon. She also leaves 10 grandchildren: Michael, Jennifer, Sam, Christopher, Debra, Stacey, Kristen, Shawn, Lauren and Tyler; 9 great grandchildren: Madison, Jack, Samantha, Alex, Brannon, Ethan, Connor, Avery and Caden.
A Memorial Service will be held on November 6, 2010 at 2:00pm in Center Point Church, 20 N. State Street, Concord, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Center Point Church.
