Shirley M. Noyes

Shirley M. Noyes, 88, of Manchester, NH, passed away on April 18, 2025 at RiverWoods in Manchester. Born in Manchester, NH on July 5, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Kuhn) Jache. She shared 57 years of marriage with her husband, Harold “Duke” Noyes, who passed away in 2016.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of the Manchester area. She was a graduate of Manchester Central High School. She developed a lifelong love for roller skating in her 20’s and shone brightly as a competitive roller figure skater. Shirley remained devoted to the sport throughout her life, lending her time and support to countless competitions throughout the region. Shirley’s hands were rarely still — they were always tending to her garden, piecing together jigsaw puzzles, or sewing warmth and beauty into her quilts.

She found deep joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the meaningful bonds she shared with her beloved sisters, Florence and Mildred, with whom she traveled and made cherished memories. Above all else, Shirley’s heart belonged to her family. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew no bounds. They were her greatest joy, and her spirit lives on in their laughter, their stories, and the love they carry forward.

Shirley is survived by her grandchildren, Brent Baker and wife Lynne Clough, and Brie Baker and wife Dana Mercer; her great-grandchildren, Andrian Baker, Calla Baker, Rowan Baker, and great-great-grandson Desmond Baker; her siblings, Lawrence Jache and Florence Guimond; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Gerald Baker; as well as eight brothers and five sisters.

Services will be held on Friday, April 25th at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to her Visitation from 10AM-12PM with a Funeral Service at 12PM. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester.
