Steven H. Ellis transitioned peacefully from his earthly body into his heavenly one on December 7th, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
Born August 22, 1954, “Steve” was a lover of his family and sports. Playing football for Spaulding High school earned him his alter ego nickname of “SHE” (sh-ay) which his family certainly had some fun with over the years. Steve was also an active and beloved member of his church for many years. To this day, rumor has it that to this day, no one can touch Steve’s “John the Baptist.” His beautiful voice echoed the songs in his soul before Huntington's robbed him of it, but he didn’t complain. Steve loved life. If you knew Steven, you knew what it was to laugh so hard you snorted or got a stomach ache, because he was one of the wittiest and funniest men you could ever meet. Almost impossible to keep up honestly. Even when Huntington's took his ability to speak, his ability to eat, his ability to walk, and so much more, he never lost his love of life or his vibrant spirit right up until his last breath. He is a testament to the words courage and fight. He never let it win. Not once.
He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of 42 years Jeannette Ellis (Poulliot), his daughter and wonderful caretaker Doreen Bergeron (Ellis) and her husband Dan, and grandkids Katie, Savannah, and Cameron. And his very first great grandson Weston. His son Robert Ellis and grandkids Laila and Landon and his daughter Renee LeBlanc (Ellis), and her husband Isaac, and his granddaughter SGT Hannah Lord, U.S Army. Steven is predeceased by his parents, Phylis and Raymond Ellis and is survived by his sisters Diana, Barbara, and Cheri and Brothers Peter and Tim and many nieces and nephews.
We should all be so lucky to have known Steven. To know him was simply to share his appreciation for every single little thing in life because you never know what it has in store. All of us who had the blessing to know him will forever fulfill his legacy of love and laughter. You will be terribly missed, Steven. But, we know you are enjoying having what was stolen from you all those years back. We love you with everything.
