Steven A. Macie, 58, of Guilford, VT passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend. He was born in Townshend, VT on January 24, 1955, the son of the late Virginia (Macie) Reynolds.
Steven has been in the Brattleboro area most of his life. He was employed as a firefighter for the Hinsdale Fire Department from September 1990 through March 1994; he also worked as a security guard for the Hinsdale Racetrack, drove for Brattleboro Taxi and most recently as a greeter for Amtrak. Steven enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, and was an avid sports fan.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Alice Macie; a brother, Francis "Peanut" Macie and a step grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Macie of Guilford; a brother, Kevin Reynolds of Hinsdale, NH; three sisters, Janet Bratton of W. Brattleboro, VT, Lynn Flagg of Norton, VT and Terry Rocray of Kennebunk, ME; four step children, Harold Porter, Jr. of Winchester, NH, Tammy Lawton of Orange, MA, Elizabeth Couture also of Winchester, and Tara Porter of Guilford, VT; an Aunt and Uncle, Pam and Jay Colburn of Brattleboro; six step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 1 PM to 2 PM at Ker-Westerlund Funeral Home, 57 High Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steven's name to Yankee Family Dialysis, Fresinus Health Care, 115 Wildwood Ave. Greenfield, MA 01301.
