STUART P. McKENZIE
FRANCONIA -- Stuart P. McKenzie, of Kinsman Lodge, Easton Rd., Franconia, passed away on February 22, 2003 in the same house in which he was born 86 years ago.
A native of Franconia, Stuart was born on December 15, 1916, a son to Edward and Gladys (Bowles) McKenzie. He graduated from Dow Academy and was a farmer until an injury forced him into retirement in 1970. Perhaps his greatest enjoyment came from operating his sawmill. Like his father, Edward McKenzie, he enjoyed the craft of making lumber from the trees, which grew in the Easton Valley. For many years Stuart did custom sawing for local landowners who used the lumber to build their houses and barns.
Surviving family members include a son, JoeI McKenzie of Franconia, NH; three daughters, Nancy Van Kleeck of Exeter, NH, Susan Thompson of Franconia, NH, and Martha Callender of Manchester, MA; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. His wife, Marjorie (Noyes) McKenzie, predeceased him in 1984 and his second wife, Harriet (Stanton) Noyes McKenzie predeceased him in 1996.
SERVICES: There will be no services at this time. A graveside service in the Danville Green Cemetery is planned at the convenience of the family in the springtime.
