Sylvia Lena King

Sylvia Lena King passed away on June 11, 2024 at the age of 102 surrounded by her loving family. 

Born in Concord, NH to Ulderic and Eva (Dubois) Racine, Sylvia was the last survivor of five children. Married to Francis J. Spain II in 1942, who was killed in an army accident two months before the birth of their son, she was remarried to Wilfred King 11 years later. They would build their life and their own home in Dunbarton, where they lived for many years. 

Sylvia leaves behind her son, Francis "Frank" Spain III and daughter-in-law Pam of Waterford, VT. She was very proud of her 3 grandchildren, Francis "John" Spain (Trisha) of Lyman, ME; Elisabeth "Lisa" Richardson (Dana) of Canterbury, and Katherine "Kate" Miller (Jay) of Waterford, VT. She leaves 4 great grandchildren, Noah Miller, Quinn Miller, Hailey Miller, and Isabella Miller. She also leaves behind her brother Ulderic Francis Racine (Trudy) of Ozawkie, KS; her nephew Benjamin Racine; niece Jennifer Racine Laverentz (Kale); and great niece India Racine Laverentz.

Sylvia spent the majority of her career at Concord Group Insurance, where she retired as an officer. She was renowned for her skills as an expert seamstress and knitter among other hobbies.
