Sylvia E. (Pineda) Torres, 68, of Manchester, passed away at Catholic Medical Center on April 1, 2024.
She was born in Managua, Nicaragua on July 13, 1955, the daughter of the late Concepcion and Gloria (Knudsen) Pineda. She moved to Manchester in 1993 with her family. Sylvia was an amazing cook and made sure there was a fresh home cooked meal for every event or birthday. She was a prayer warrior and was very active in the First Spanish Baptist Church in Manchester and sang soprano in the church choir.
Family members include her husband and companion of 39 years, Luis Torres; a son, David Duarte; two daughters, Gloria Duarte and Sara Torres; Brothers, Carlos, Ricardo, Jose Antonio, and David Pineda; Sisters, Blenda Mendoza, Gloria Pineda, and Sophia Perez; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and brothers & sisters in Christ. She also leaves behind her two fur grandkids, Mia and Mateo.
The family would like to thank her healthcare team who became a big part of her life and did an exceptional job in providing Sylvia the best care possible.
Calling hours and a reception will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Friday, April 5th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a funeral service to follow in the funeral home at 1:00 PM.
