Tabert "Tab" Alan Julius

Tabert (Tab) Alan Julius, 53, of 10 Meadowbrook Rd., Derry, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Tab was born in White Plains, New York on November 25, 1962 to the late Morton Julius and Jean Irene (Tabert) Julius. Soon after his birth his family moved to South Londonderry, Vermont. Tab, as he was known by all, graduated from the Vermont Academy in 1980 and Castleton State College in 1988 with a degree in computer science.
Tab moved to Ashland, New Hampshire where he was a successful entrepreneur for PenWorks, Corp. a business he developed and ran for about 10 years in the 1990s. Tab was successful in multimedia and cross-platform development. His career included consulting, and contributing to technical publications. He was an expert in Shockwave and Lingo development; he wrote a technical book that achieved international acclaim. Later, Tab worked as a software and testing engineer for Dyn of Manchester. Finally, Tab worked for Laser Projection Technology until he could no longer work.
On September 3, 2005, he married Karen Brislin of Barre, Vermont and they resided for a short time in Wentworth, NH. They relocated to Derry in 2006 and still reside there.
Tab lived his life with quiet gusto. He was a man of above average intelligence, tremendous compassion, and generosity of spirit. His quick wit and sense of humor will keep those who knew and loved him laughing as we remember him forevermore.
He leaves behind his wife, Karen Julius, his mother Jean of Derry, his son, Spencer Julius of Manchester, his brother Todd Julius of Burlington, Vermont, and brother Ted Julius of Balingin, Germany.
His father Morton Julius preceded Tab in 2004.
We extend many thanks to the Oncology nurses at St. Joseph's Hospital and to the staff of Home Health & Hospice Care of Merrimack. Your love and care over the years made the hard times bearable.
All friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Tab's life at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave., Manchester from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 with an interfaith service. There will be refreshments. A memorial dinner will follow the services at a venue to be determined.
