It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Theresa Adeline Cloutier (Maheu) on February 28, 2025, with her loving family by her side. Born on September 13, 1936, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Theresa was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence Maheu and Irene Gagnon Maheu.
Theresa attended St. George’s High School in Manchester. She was the first in her family to graduate college, working in a factory to put herself through school, earning her degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester, New Hampshire.
Theresa was a strong, sharp-minded woman who deeply loved her family, friends, and pets. A devoted wife to The Honorable Raymond Arthur Cloutier for 63 years, she built a life of love and joy on their farm. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, and their four children: Elise Cloutier Driscoll (Sean), Celeste Cloutier Manganiello (Alex), Raymond Cloutier (Myrtle Macalaguing), and Ernest Cloutier (Wendy Krampf).
Theresa took immense joy in being a grandmother to her fourteen grandchildren, Benjamin, Conor, Haley, Catherine, Harris, Clare, Ruth, Sophia, Corinne, Owen, Ella, Harper, Lainey and Norah, and was recently blessed to welcome her first great-grandchild into the family, Mason.
Theresa was famously lucky in three pastimes: scratch tickets, bingo and slot machines. But she felt most lucky because of the blessings of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchild; all of whom she considered her greatest jackpot.
Theresa was one of twelve children and shared a special bond with her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her brother, Roland Maheu of Leesburg, Florida, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: Constance Viera, Evelyn LeClerc, Fleurette Beaulieu, Irene Chamberlain, Bernadette Pettis, Frances Marcotte, Lionel Maheu, Paul Maheu, Archie Maheu and Albert Maheu.
Visiting hours are Thursday, March 6, from 6–8 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 7, at 10 AM at Saint Lawrence Church, 1 E Union St., Goffstown, followed by burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theresa’s memory to fund breast cancer research at Susan G. Komen (www.komen.org).
Theresa’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
