Theresa A Palys, 88, died June 3, 2020 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH.
Theresa was born on May 9, 1932 in Lawrence, MA the daughter of Ignatius Palys and Aniela (Sabik) Palys. She attended Lawrence Public Schools and was employed in various office positions, retired on disability. Theresa never married and lived most of her life with her family in Salem, NH. She moved to Bentley Commons 2012 then to Bedford Nursing & Rehab Center in 2019.
Theresa loved her family, family pets, ice cream (especially Maple Walnut) and sweets, which her niece delivered regularly. Theresa spent her days making other people happy and get them smiling. She had a heart of gold and was often nicknamed 'Saint Theresa' because she was always praying for everyone. Everyone who met Theresa fell in love with her. The nurses always said they wish they had a bunch just like her.
Theresa had the best stories, the best attitude and the best hugs. She would get excited about visits from Hannah the dog and Gus the cat. Hannah would jump on her and give her kisses and make her laugh. She had a cuddle clone of Hannah, that everyone at Bedford nursing thought was real, and she got a kick out of their reactions every time they saw her. She'll always be remembered for her incredible sense of humor, warm smile and great laugh. Theresa was a great blessing, will be missed by many and will be remembered as a bright light. Heaven gained another angel when she left us.
Theresa was pre-deceased by her sisters Antoinette (Toni), Edna, Phyllis, and her brother Thaddeus (Ted), all of Salem, NH, and brother Joseph and sister-in-law Rose of Lawrence, MA.
Theresa is survived by her niece, Michelle Palys of Bedford, NH, grand-niece Destini (Palys) Powers and her husband Kory Powers of Merrimack, NH and grand-nephew, Aaron Palys of Denver, CO along with her beloved family pets, Hannah, Gus and Finnley.
Services will be held privately. Theresa will be laid to rest at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa's memory may be made to the Easter Seals.
