Theresa “Terry” Ann (Stys) Payment, 86, of Manchester, NH, passed away after a long battle with Alzheimer’s on May 8, 2026 at Elliot Hospital. Born in Goffstown on February 25, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Stella and Andrew Stys. She shared nearly 65 years of marriage with her husband, Maurice “Moe” Payment.

Terry was a lifelong resident of Manchester. In her early years, she worked at Waumbec Mills and Northeastern Engineering. After marrying Moe and starting their family, Terry devoted herself to raising their children, William, Andrew, Steven, and Judith. Later, she worked as a housekeeper at the Highlander Inn.

Terry found great joy in gardening and took immense pride in caring for her flowers and plants. During the warmer months, she could often be found outside tending to her yard. She also cherished spending time with her family, especially enjoying beach trips together.

Terry is survived by her husband, Maurice Payment of Manchester; her children, William Payment of Bedford, Andrew Payment and his wife Barbara of Manchester, Steven Payment of Manchester, and Judith Glassman and her husband Gregory of Auburn; her sister, Jane Reilly of Northborough, MA; her grandchildren, Kylie Glassman of Auburn and Krysten Glendye and her husband Brett of Manchester; her great-grandson, Callan; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 4PM – 6PM with a Memorial Service in the funeral home at 6PM. Family and friends are invited to attend. Private burial will take place at a later date at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
