Therese M. Houle

Therese M. "Terry" (Boudreau) Houle passed away at home with her loving family at her side Saturday July 28th following a lengthy illness.

The daughter of Arthur and Rosanna (Adams) Boudreau, Terry was born in Manchester December 26, 1930. She was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Amoskeag School. Though she was primarily a homemaker, Terry spent a period of time employed at the Manchester Mills and Manchester Knitted Fashions in addition to several other waitressing and retail jobs.

Terry and her husband Edward met in their mid teens and were married February 26, 1949, starting their family shortly after. Terry was devoted in her role as wife and mother. She had a strong sense of humor, second only to the strength of her Faith. She spent several years as a Eucharistic Minister as well as a CCD teacher. As the matriarch of her family she was the driving force behind countless family gatherings. She greatly enjoyed putting puzzles together. Some of Terry's most peaceful times were found in her garden with her hands in the earth, planting flowers and trimming hedges. She felt this was her time with God and found much comfort in it.

Terry is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward J. Houle; son Ernest J. Houle and his wife Marie of Manchester; son Roger A. Houle Sr. and his wife Susan of Bow; daughter Diane R. Cote of Manchester; brother Wilfred Boudreau and his wife Mary of Manchester; sister Rose Bilodeau of Manchester; grandchildren Julie Houle, Laurie Smith, Jessica Kellogg, Jenny Burns, Roger A. Houle Jr., Kristie Fremeau, James Cote, Keith Valentin, Tony Valentin, Chris Valentin, Terri Baston and Brian Baston; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her daughter, Claire Valentin; brothers Blackie Boudreau and his wife June and Francis Boudreau and his wife Rose; sister Rita Zayac and her husband Louie; and brother-in-law Bob Bilodeau.
