Thomas Edward Caldwell, 73 years old, of Goffstown, NH, passed away on November 28th at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care following several years of declining health.
Thomas was born in Manchester, NH on February 23, 1949, to George and Veronica Caldwell. He attended Manchester West High School and received a diploma in general studies.
Thomas was a Vietnam War veteran, having served a combat tour of duty in the 4th Infantry Division. His time in the military included an additional tour of duty in Germany before he was honorably discharged in 1972. Following his time in the service, Thomas spent many years in the construction industry working as a paving foreman and construction laborer. Tom was a Boston sports fan, loved playing golf, Golden Tee, and bragged about his billiards skills. He was happiest in the warm Florida sun spending time with his dear sister, Veronica Labrie.
Thomas is survived by his once wife and loving partner, Jocelyne Caldwell of Goffstown, NH; his son Jamie Caldwell and daughter-in-law Katie Caldwell of Goffstown, NH; his daughter Stefanie Horoho and son-in-law Michael Horoho of Scituate, MA; his four beloved grandchildren Angelina, Aubree, Michael, and Lila; and his dear sister, Veronica Labrie. He was preceded by his brothers, George Caldwell, Lester Caldwell, and John Caldwell as well as several life-long friends.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, December 1st 4:00-6:00pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes $ Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue in Manchester, NH. Cemetery committal with military honors will be held at 10:00am Friday, December 2nd at New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
