Manchester – Thomas J. Doherty, 50, died March 6, 2010 in Manchester as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Manchester on February 10, 1960 to Robert and Theresa (Fournier) Doherty. He was a 1978 graduate of Manchester West High School and had attended Hesser College. He currently had owned and operated A1 Drywall of Manchester and had been in the construction field for 30 years. He had been experienced in many areas of construction including: carpentry, drywall, roofing, painting, ceilings, solar technology etc. He had previously been employed by such companies as Pro Con Construction and Therrien Roofing of Manchester. He was known as a very hard worker who took pride in his work. He also believed in enjoying life and having a good time with friends. He loved the outdoors, especially the North Country. Motorcycles, hunting, camping and attending the Laconia races were special to him. Members of his family include his mother, Theresa Doherty of Manchester; two brothers, James and Daniel Doherty also of Manchester. In addition, there are several cousins. He also leaves a companion, Sheila Warnock of Manchester. He recently lost his father Robert Doherty of Manchester, due to cancer on December 22, 2009. In His Life: Mr. Doherty had never married or had children of his own, but he took great pride in helping to raise Aaron Pinard like his own son. Tom treasured his role as a stepfather figure to Aaron and the two had shared a wonderful friendship that has lasted for 24 years. His Memorial Gathering will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, corner of Union St, Manchester on Thursday from 4-8PM. His Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 11:00AM in the Chapel at Phaneuf Funeral Home. Committal prayers will follow in the Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery, where interment will take place.
