Thomas Francis Gallagher

Mr. Thomas F. Gallagher, 76, of Goffstown, NH died Friday March 11, 2011 at his home in Goffstown following a period of declining health.

He was born on August 11, 1934 in Boston, MA the son of the late Richard and Edith (Kiezer) Gallagher. He was raised and educated in the Boston Area. He was a resident of Charlestown, MA for many years before moving to New Hampshire 34 years ago.

During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Army as a military policeman.

He worked in the HVAC industry for many years, having worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard and at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester. He retired from teaching at the Greater Lowell Vocational Technical School in Lowell, MA

Mr. Gallagher enjoyed wood carving, he especially like carving animals. He loved collecting items such as coins and stamps. Thomas enjoyed taking Sunday drives and going to the Flea market. He had a great sense of humor that will be missed.

He is survived by his son, Sean Gallagher of Deering, NH,; five daughters, Nanette Dominguez of Jamaica Plain, MA, Michele Scadding of Manchester, Amanda Barrett of Goffstown, NH, Nichole Gallagher of Melrose, MA and Danielle Loiselle of Candia, NH; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Marie C. (Melanson) Gallagher who died on March 16, 2008.

Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Wednesday from 4-8PM. His Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
