Thomas Kukla, 79, of Epsom passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family Saturday, April 6th.
Thomas was born in Manchester September 14, 1933, the son of the late John and Mary (Janas) Kukla. He was raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester Central High School. Following graduation, Thomas enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for more than 3 years. Thomas' military service included an extended tour of duty in Korea. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Thomas married Constance Fay August 21, 1954.
Thomas enjoyed spending time outdoors waterskiing, fishing, and watching his sons' sporting events. He also loved going to the beach and vacationed in Aruba with his wife every year. Thomas was a loving and supportive husband and father who possessed a deep sense of family and an old-school work ethic. He also took great pride in his home and spent countless hours tending to the lawns and his flower and vegetable gardens.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Connie Kukla; daughter Pamela Reed and her husband, James; son David John and his wife, Heidi; son Tom and his wife, Julie; daughter Laura Hutchison and her husband, Mark; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Casmir Kukla and his sister, Heddy Boire.
An hour of gathering will be held 10:00-11:00am on Wednesday, April 10th at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester followed immediately by a Memorial Service in the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at the NH State Veteran Cemetery during a private service.
