Thomas Riggas, 79, of Manchester, passed away at the Elliot Hospital on February 16, 2013.
He was born in Vatsounia, Greece on February 26, 1933, the son of Loucas and Estathia Riggas and had been a NH resident since moving from Greece with his family in 1968. While in Greece, he was a member of the Greek army and reserves. He had worked for Waumbec Mills for many years. He enjoyed going to the local coffee houses and spending time with his friends. He was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. He was the widower of Panagiota (Katis) Riggas who died in 2011.
Family members include two sons, Loucas Riggas of Bedford and Steven Riggas of Manchester; a daughter, Dorothy Kotromanos of Manchester; eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister, Koula Liolios of Greece; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. The Trisageon service will be held at 6:30 PM. Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Committal services will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
