Tommie Patton Kendrick

Tommie "Tom" Patton Kendrick, 71, of Montague, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.

Tom was born on August 15, 1949, in Keene, NH. His late parents George and Jaenne (Patton) Kendrick lovingly raised him in Montague, MA where he graduated from Turners Falls High School, class of 1968. Prior to retirement, Tom worked at the Erving Paper Mill, Bridgeport Metals, Australis Fish Hatchery, and as a driver for dialysis patients.

Tom was full of life and enjoyed spending time outdoors trout and deep-sea fishing, golfing, hunting, and playing pitch at the Victoria Bar in Greenfield, MA. Prior to his departure, he traveled the country and checked Disney World, the Brickyard 400, and Las Vegas off his bucket list just to name a few. He was an avid NASCAR and New England sports fan and especially loved watching the Patriots, or "Cardiac Kids," with his children. He would have proudly told you his hero was a ventriloquist doll named 'Walter' brought to life by comedian Jeff Dunham. Among his favorite phrases were "Welcome to Walmart, get your shit and get out!" and "who the hell cares…" Tom could almost always be found with either a Dunkin Donuts coffee or Diet Pepsi in hand, although he would have traded it for a Coors Light or Makers Mark any day! His sense of humor, vibrant laugh, bright smile, and fun loving personality touched so many lives and he will be sorely missed.

Tom leaves behind three sons: Tommie Kendrick, Jr. and his wife Angela, of Greenfield, MA; Everett Kendrick and his partner Abbi, of Athol, MA; Jeremy Kendrick and his wife Karen, of Northfield, MA; and one daughter, Sarah Reed and her husband William, of Amherst, NH. He also leaves behind three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is survived by his siblings: Deborah Dion, of Winchester, NH; Linda King and her husband Guy; Michael Kendrick; Martin Kendrick and his wife Wendy, all of Montague, MA; Timothy Kendrick and his wife Cecilia, of West Hartland, CT; and Joey Kendrick, of Montague, MA, all affectionately known as "Harry" or "Harriett" among the family.

A celebration of life will be held in Spring/Summer of 2021 when family and friends can safely come together to honor Tom's life and legacy.

Rest in peace, Harry. We love you.
