LISBON, NH -- TSgt. Jan R. Woolson, 57, of Bergin Terrace passed away Thursday, May 29th after a long illness at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 6, 1945 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, a daughter to Major Harold and Mary (Cain) Miller.
Jan graduated from Lyndon Institute in Lyndon Center, VT in 1963. She then entered the Air National Guard from which she retired in April of 2003. During her career with the Air Force she served 18 months at the Guard Bureau in Washington, DC during Desert Storm at the Andrews Air Force Base. She also served time on the Air Force Honor Guard. During her military career she received several medals and awards including an award signed by President George W. Bush. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, sewing, canning foods, traveling, and being a Den Mother.
Surviving family consists of her husband, Michael Woolson, Sr. of Lisbon, NH; three sons, Cheyenne Greatorex of Allston, MA, Michael Woolson, Jr. and wife Laurie of Lyman, NH, Maurice Woolson of Pflugerville, TX; two granddaughters; four sisters, Johnna (Rosselot) Daigneault and husband Albert of Saint Johnsbury, VT, Jean (Rosselot) Chase and her husband Wayne of Passumpsic, VT, Susan (Laine) Babcock and husband Robert of Maine, her twin Jo Miller of Goffstown, NH; a special friend, Sue Poirier; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
SERVICES: Private Military Honors will be given in the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery in Boscawan, NH.
Family suggests in lieu of flowers contributions be made, in her memory, to the charity of ones choice.
