Mr. Ulric J. McMullen, 81, of Manchester died October 15, 2011, of natural causes at Hackett Hill Healthcare Center in Manchester, where he was currently residing, following a brief illness.
He was born on February 9, 1930 in Matane, Quebec Province, Canada, the son of the late Marie-Anne (Caron) who died in September of 1982 and Ulric McMullen, Sr. who died in October of 1957. He was educated in Canada at Academie St. Antonie, Matane, PQ, Canada and upon graduating worked in lumber camps in Canada as a lumberjack.
Ulric moved to the US in 1958 and has been a resident of Manchester, NH for over 53 years. On January 9, 1976 he became a naturalized citizen.
He worked as a self-employed lumberjack in the US from 1958-1979. Upon retirement form working in the woods, Ulric settled in to semi-retirement, working as a security guard with Raytheon.
Ulric was a communicant of St. Anthony Parish.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose A. (LeMay) McMullen who died February 1, 2003. They were married on June 13, 1958, sharing 44 years of marriage prior to her passing.
Mr. McMullen is survived by his two daughters, Joanne L. McMullen of Athens, Ohio and Diane D. McMullen of Manchester, NH.
Ulric was the oldest and last surviving of 6 children, all of whom lived in Canada. The brothers and sister were Henry McMullen, Collette McMullen and Reginald McMullen and his half sister, Laurette Therese Cote and his half borther, Jacques Jean Cote.
His Committal Service will be held in the chapel of the mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Ulric's name can be made to the charity of one's choice.
