Vera M. Repeta

Vera M. Repeta, 97, of Venice, FL passed away peacefully while in the care of her children on February 19, 2023.

She was born in Newark, NJ on May 22, 1925 to John and Josephine Rickershauser.

Vera was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend. Vera’s family moved to Union, NJ where she lived for many years and where she also met her next-door neighbor, love of her life, and future husband, Thomas.

They grew their family in Livingston, NJ until Tom convinced Vera to relocate to Rutland, VT, buy a motel, and run the business together, all while raising their seven children. When they became empty-nesters, Vera decided to use her talent and passion for knitting to open her own yarn and craft shop in Rutland, which she ran successfully for many years.

Upon retiring, Vera and Tom made their home in Bedford, NH in order to be close to their adult children and families, and in Venice, FL, where they enjoyed warm weather, friends, and frequent visits from their growing extended family. Vera was a remarkable caregiver to Tom during the time he was in poor health before his death in 2006.

They were married for sixty years. To both of them, nothing was more important than their family and they were dedicated to them throughout their lives.

Vera is survived by her children, Patricia Brown, Thomas Repeta (Barbara), Wayne Repeta (Madonna), Daniel Repeta (Marisa), Nancy Lasky (Peter), Joann Repeta, and Sandra Fahsel (Michael), 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life for Vera, which will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, NH on Saturday, June 10^th at 2:30pm. Interment will be on Monday, June 12, 2023, 9:00am at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Special Olympics of NH.
