Veronica "Bonnie" Helen (Bacon) Wilbar, age 89, died Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025 at The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born on January 12, 1936 in Tonawanda, NY, the daughter of George and Beatrice Bacon.
She was the wife of Wendall Mayo Wilbar Jr. They were married on September 12, 1953 in her hometown of Tonawanda, NY.
Bonnie competed in figure and dance roller skating meets on local and National levels, having met her husband while skating. She was a theatrical wardrobe seamstress and tailor, working at the Palace Theater, the Verizon Center, and other venues. She toured with Opera Northeast, and performed as "grandmother" in Northeastern Ballet Theatre's Nutcracker for six seasons. She enjoyed camping and bike riding.
Bonnie is survived by her children: Karen Chauvette, Steven and wife Anne Wilbar, David and wife Debbie Fickett-Wilbar, and Alan Wilbar. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and her loving cat Joey.
Visitation will be held from 6pm - 8pm Thursday April 10, 2025 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, located at 243 Hanover Street in Manchester, NH. A funeral service will be held at 9:30am Friday April 11, 2025 at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, located at 16 Baboosic Lake Road in Merrimack, NH with Rev. Msgr. Paul Bouchard officiating. Interment will take place at 10:00am Monday, April 14, 2025 at the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery (NHSVC) at 110 Daniel Webster Hwy in Boscawen, NH.
