Claremont, NH

Vicki Ann (Barber) Currie, 69, of Claremont, passed away on June 19, 2022, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

She was born in Bellows Falls, VT on December 26, 1952, the daughter of the late Victor and Natalie (Rich) Barber. During her career, she had worked for Holson Burns in Claremont and later for Whelen Engineering in Charlestown. She was the widow of James Alfred Currie who died in 2006. She loved spending time with her family and found comfort when her granddaughter Nicole and her fiancé Connor Simonds exchanged vows. She was looking forward to her daughter Jamie finding happiness with her fiancé, Joseph Brady. Vicki was a sweet, kind gentle lady and a very hard worker. She had many health problems in her life. But most people never knew it because she would never let anyone see her pain. She was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to have her in their life. She was a life member of American Legion Auxiliary 8497 in Charlestown. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, James Currie, Jr., a grandson, Austin Preston Noyes, and a sister, Kitty Waryas.

In addition to her daughter and son in law of Claremont, she leaves behind three brothers, Clark Barber and his wife Mary of Concord, Clifford Barber of Monroe, and Albert Barber and his wife Shelby of Bellows Falls, VT; three grandchildren, Robert Adam Noyes, Nicole Marie Noyes, and Brian Patrick Noyes; two sisters, Sandy O’Brien of the Villages, FL and Nancy Benware and her husband Kim of Charlestown; a sister in law, Nancy Dowsett of Charlestown; and many wonderful nephews and nieces that she loved dearly.

A celebration of her life will take place later this summer. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. To view an online tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit https://www.phaneuf.net
