Victor Duhaime, 78 of Manchester passed away on Nov. 11th at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Manchester on May 21, 1936, son of the late Ovila and Cecile (Boucher) Duhaime.
He grew up on the West Side of Manchester on Dubuque Street and was fluent in both French and English.
As a young man he was employed as a professional drummer with a band known as the Rhythm Kings and played at the Normandy Lounge on Salisbury Beach every Saturday for many years.
Victor was a long time supervisor in the City of Manchester's Parks Department and was a familiar and friendly face at the JFK Coliseum and Gill Stadium. He had an adventurous soul and took up hunting and skiing in his late forties. He also enjoyed square and line dancing but above all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was a world traveler that visited many exotic places with his wife Dolly who was the center of his universe for 55 years. Most of all he was a kind hearted person with a beautiful personality that was loved by all who knew him.
Beloved husband of Dolores "Dolly" (Daigle) Duhaime, Loving father of Dennis Duhaime and his wife Mary Ann of Manchester, Joanne Duhaime of Merrimack, and Cheryl Franks and her husband Robert of Florida. Devoted Pepere of Alicia McDermott, Amanda Duhaime, Lauren Franks, Kara Franks and his great-granddaughter Mia McDermott. Dear brother of Lionel Duhaime of FL, Andre Duhaime of SC, John Duhaime of WV and the late Guy Duhaime and Jules Duhaime.
SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St. (corner of Union St.) Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 15th at 9 O'clock in Saint Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave. Manchester. Interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
