He was born in Manchester on November 24, 1926, the son of John J. and Alice (Fournier) Ranfos, Sr., and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and served on the U.S.S. Caliente (AO 53). He worked for many years at Granite State Asphalt. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Family members include his wife of 53 years, June K. (Johnson) Ranfos; four sons, Victor J. Ranfos, Jr., of Allenstown, Tony J. Ranfos, Sr., of Manchester, Charles A. Ranfos of Candia and Glenn J. Ranfos of Hooksett; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; six brothers, Angelo Ranfos, Nick Ranfos, Ernest Ranfos and John Ranfos, all of Manchester, James Ranfos of Londonderry and Robert Ranfos of Fremont; two sisters, Muriel Marcotte and Ida Lavoie-Stanton, both of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours are at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
