Vincent
Dusio Jr.
March 1, 1943 – March 28, 2026
Phaneuf Funeral Homes
1:00 - 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Vincent Dusio Jr. Born 3/1/43 to Anna and Vincent Dusio Sr. passed away on March 28th after a protracted illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Penelope A. Dusio and his son, Christopher J. Dusio, his wife Julie, and his three grandchildren Alexis, Hunter and Sophia Dusio.
Vincent was a retired commander in the US Navy, something he was extremely proud of. Once in civilian life he worked as a plant manager for several large jewelry manufacturers in Rhode Island and later worked at Dedham Health and Athletic Complex where he stayed for over 20 years.
Vince grew up in Fall River Mass, moved to Seekonk in the early 70’s but eventually found his home in New Hampshire, a state he loved dearly. He and his wife built a beautiful homestead in the mountains, and it was being there with her that pleased him the most.
Vincent was termed by his friend Andy as “a giant amongst men.” He was kind and caring, fiercely loyal, and never wavered from his principles. Anyone who knew Vince knows this is the only way to describe him.
A loving father, Vincent cared deeply for his only son. He spent many hours at hockey and baseball games, and the two spent countless days off learning guitar, hunting and fishing-activities he continued to greatly enjoy in his later years. Vincent passed his love for these simple pleasures-the outdoors, music, quality time- onto his son Christopher who continues to share in these joys with his own family. He loved his grandchildren deeply and treated his son’s wife Julie as his own daughter. His love and warmth will always echo in their hearts.
Vinnie’s wife Penelope was the love of his entire life, and they were just a few weeks away from celebrating 60 years of marriage. The great joy of his life was making her happy, and the two spent many years taking care of their labradors together and simply enjoying each other’s company.
Vincent was the kind of person that could listen, absorb your troubles with just his mannerisms and make you feel calm during the worst storms. He will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on.
Always a kind, giving person, he truly was a giant amongst men. Not because of his stature, but because of his soul.
Rest in peace Dad, sleep in the stars, don’t you cry anymore. I love you so much and I hope we meet again someday.
