Virginia S. “Susie” (Keith) Carreau, 80, of Manchester, passed away at her residence on October 19th, 2024. She was born in Fouke, Arkansas, on January 28, 1944, the daughter of the late Delbert and Mary Faye (Jeans) Keith.
Susie graduated from Texarkana, Arkansas High School in 1962. She begun her career by attending Labaron Hair dressing Academy, graduating in 1965. Then continued her career as a hair stylist for over 58 years. She owned and operated Susan’s Stylette in Manchester, NH and Susie’s Country Shears Hooks, TX. Most of her career was spent serving the local Manchester Community at Sullivan Stylet for 30 years. Her passion to help others has always shined through her work, even after she retired. From 2017-2020 she enjoyed volunteering her time at Hope for New Hampshire Recovery. Her compassion for humanity is unmatched. She graciously helped others get off to the right start, by sharing her craft of cutting and styling hair.
Through the years, Susie created a beautiful family whom loved her dearly. She is survived by her two sons, Shannon Carreau and his wife Melanie Wallace of Manchester, Lance Carreau and his wife Beth of Nashua; six grandchildren, Kayla, Alexandrea, Nicole, Amanda, Joshua, and Cory; nine great grandchildren; siblings Evelyn Joyce “Jo Jo” Keith Allen and her husband Roger Allen, Jenevia Ann Evans, William Don Evans, Jackie Dean Evans, Kennith James Evans, and Robert Glen Evans; along with several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald R. Carreau January 19th, 2024 , her eldest son, Scott Allen Carreau November 18th, 2017, and her sister Leona Fay Evans in 2000.
Susie was filled with many talents. She loved to cook and bake for her family, friends, and the community. Enjoyed making clothes, costumes and blankets by sewing, knitting, and quilting. Her love for nature drew her to activities like camping, fishing, and just enjoying the sunshine with some sweet tea. Lastly she was an incredible artist practicing with mediums like paint, ceramics, makeup and crafting.
To conclude, the love that Susie shared with everyone in her life was undeniable. She showed us how to love genuinely and give selflessly. She showed us how to be mindful and kind. Her spirit in our reality will be greatly missed but our faith helps us know she will always be there, watching over us, protecting us. The positive impact she left will linger on forever in our hearts.
