Virginia M. (Rey) Staniewick, 80, of 241 Pine Street, died April 18, 2002 at Mountain Ridge Center in Franklin. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 1, 1921, the daughter of the late Fredrick and Elizabeth (Kelch) Rey, Sr., and had lived in New Jersey for many years prior to moving to Manchester in 1984. She had worked for the Salvation Army in Manchester for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Anne Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was the widow of Joseph Staniewick. Family members include two daughters, Barbara Alvarez of Manchester and Alice Ogrodowski of Franklin; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; a brother, Fredrick Rey, Jr., of Irving, TX; four sisters, Lillian Ogrodowski of Bricktown, NJ, Henrietta Perko of Missouri, Florence Knapp of Texas and Martha Ball of Jersey City, NJ; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Monday from 6 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday morning at 10:00.
