Mr. W. Roger Russel, 69, of Manchester, NH died August 29, 2010 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester following a life long battle with diabetes. He was born on July 12, 1941 in Claremont, NH the son of the late William and Blanche (Morin) Russel. He grew up in Claremont and graduated from St. Mary's School. He continued his education at Keene State Teachers College. He was a resident of Manchester for many years and had previously lived in Haverhill, MA. Mr. Russel worked as a realtor for 35 plus year, with several agencies as well as independently in the Manchester area. Roger was a very devoted father, whether it was helping with school projects or attending sporting events. He had a deep passion for teaching his children everything about life. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Roger had a deep love of photography. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing, animals and cooking. He was known for being a bit of a jokester. He was a hard working man who found the time to give back to the community through various fundraising events. In His Life: He is survived by her daughter, Louri Russel Boilard and her husband Robert of Manchester; son, David Russel and his wife Christine of Manchester, 6 grandchildren, Jordan Boilard, Tyler Russel, Colby Russel, Jenna Russel, Angela Boilard and Christine Boilard. 2 great grandchildren, Jaedan Boilard and Viktoriah Boilard; siblings, Vivian Ferguson, Kenneth Moran, Eileen Magoon, Louis Russel and Patricia Boutlier all of Claremont. He was predeceased by his wife Judith (Chase) Russel who died in 2005 and his siblings, Robert Jeager, Laramie Jeager and Mary LaFlamme. Calling Hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester of on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00PM. His Funeral and Candlelight Service will be held on Friday at 11:00AM in the Chapel of the Funeral Home.
