Walter L. Allard, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Hackett Hill Center in Hooksett, New Hampshire, surrounded by care and comfort.

Born on July 4, 1937, in Manchester, NH, Walter was the beloved son of Irenee and Germain (Ledoux) Allard. He was raised in Manchester, where he attended local schools and developed the values of hard work, humility, and loyalty that would define his life.

Walter proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and discipline.

A man of many skills and unwavering work ethic, Walter spent most of his professional career as a Millwright and was a dedicated member of the North Atlantic States Carpenters Union. His hands were never idle—he was the kind of man who could fix, build, or solve just about anything, earning a reputation as a true jack-of-all-trades.

Though he lived a simple life, Walter found great joy in the outdoors and in life’s quiet pleasures. In his younger years, he was an avid fisherman who cherished time spent on the water. Later in life, he took great pride in foraging for blueberries and clamming along the New Hampshire seacoast. Above all, his favorite place to unwind was Chantilly’s Restaurant and Bar in Hooksett—a second home where he could enjoy a cold beer, good food, the tapping, and the company of familiar faces.

Walter was deeply devoted to his family and friends. His sense of humor, gentle nature, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Connie Allard McCarney; and his brothers, Donald Allard and Ernest Allard.

Walter is survived by his son, Larry Allard Sr., and Larry’s life partner, Tracy Terrio. He was a proud grandfather to Larry Allard Jr. of Manchester; Danielle Turner and her husband, Laban, of Hooksett; Zachary Allard and his fiancée, Kristie Boulette, of Hooksett; and Katherine Terrio of Manchester. He also leaves behind two cherished great-granddaughters, Laney and Lily Turner.

Walter is also survived by his siblings: Raymond Allard of Florida, Andrew Allard of Franklin, NH, Phillip Allard of Manchester, and Sylvia Allard Prive, as well as many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Walter’s nurse Joanna and the whole staff who assisted him at Hackett Hill Center during his stay.
