Walter M. Felong

Walter M. ''Gator'' Felong, 78, of Manchester, died September 30, 2002, at the Veteran Medical Center after a long illness. He was born November 22, 1924 in Manchester, NH and the son of the late Frank and Tekla (NeePolitowicz) Felag and had been a lifelong resident of the Queen City. He was a W.W. II US Army Veteran and worked for Velcro, USA. Gator was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching sports and fishing. Family members include his wife of 55 years, Theresa (Courtois) Felong of Manchester, three daughters, Shirley Felong and her companion of many years, Peter Staib of Danbury, NH, Mrs. Charles (Susan) Lindbloom of Bedford, NH and Mrs. Robert (Elaine) Barnea of Manchester, NH, his predeceased son, Thomas W. Felong who died in 1998, two grandchildren, a brother Stanley Felong of Manchester, NH, a sister, Josephine Platek of Manchester, NH, several nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICES: A Memorial Reception will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium Chapel, 243 Hanover Street, Saturday morning from 10 to 11 o'clock with the service immediately following in the funeral home chapel at 11 o'clock.
