Walter E. Kokoszka, 88, formerly of 259 Exchange Avenue, died October 20, 2006 at Harborside Northwood Healthcare. He was born in Manchester on January 11, 1918, the son of John and Tekla Kokoszka and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He had worked for Foster Beef and was also a milkman for Blakes Creamery. After that, he worked as a security guard at Catholic Medical Center. He enjoyed player cribbage, doing crossword puzzles and reading. He also loved to watch football and baseball. He was the widower of Amelia (Christian) Kokoszka who died in 2001. Family members include two daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia) Dube of Manchester and Dr. Ronald (Debra) Gagne of New Orleans, LA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Kokoszka of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours are at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday morning at 11:00. After cremation, urn burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
