Walter G. Parker, 100, of Bow, NH, died February 3, 2022, at Granite VNA Hospice House surrounded by family.
Walter was born March 2, 1921, in Newport Landing, Nova Scotia, the son of Margaret and George Parker. He had four siblings, Florence Filledes, Helen Gassett, John Parker, and Jean Lamont. Walter was married to Helen Parker for 68 years, until her death in 2013. He was also predeceased by his two children Janice Lattuca and Michael Parker. Walter is survived by his son, James Parker and his wife Catherine Parker, of NH; his son-in-law, Russell Lattuca, of MA; his grandchildren, Nicole Lattuca, of NY, John Lattuca, of MA, Kristin Parker and her husband David Wolk, of NH, and Elissa Parker, of NH.
Walter served in the Army Air Corps in the European theater in WWII and received a bronze star. He was a lifelong ballroom dancer and entered many competitions with his wife, Helen. He was an avid reader, averaging about 3 books a week until his death. Walter loved to exercise. Up until a month before his death, he walked a mile a day and lifted weights at Planet Fitness 3 times a week. Walter volunteered at the Baker Free Library in Bow, NH and the Pope Memorial SPCA, in Concord, NH. He always spoke fondly of his coworkers, the ‘library ladies’.

The family will receive visitors Friday, February 18, 2022, 9:00am-10:30am at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 172 King Street in Boscawen, NH. Funeral service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel. Walter will be laid to rest at 1:30pm at St. Patrick Cemetery on Pond Street in Natick, MA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Baker Free Library in Bow, NH or the Pope Memorial SPCA, in Concord, NH.
