WARREN GEORGE GADWAH
BETHLEHEM, NH Warren G. Gadwah, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, July 10th at the Grafton County Nursing Home.
Warren was born on May 11, 1924, a son of Leon C. and Gladys (McCormick) Gadwah in Columbia, NH. He attended school in Columbia and was married to Georgia (Martin) Gadwah in 1943, who predeceased him on October 11, 2005.
Warren served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Cpl. Warren G. Gadwah received a Citation while serving with the U.S. Army distinguishing himself by meritorious achievement in connection with military operations not involving participation in aerial flight against an enemy of the U.S. During the time period of December 15, 1944 to May 4, 1945, he exhibited exceptional intuition and ability in the capacity of both driver and truck one-quarter ton. During operations, he maintained a very precarious position at the head of advancing columns. His coolness and correct repetition of fire commands were an important factor in the rapid adjustment of Artillery fire. Cpl. Gadwah also received an EAME ribbon with 4 bronze stars, a Good Conduct ribbon and a Bronze Star Medal.
Warren was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Coleman Construction. He enjoyed bird watching, wildlife and flowers. He loved spending time with his family.
Surviving family members include two sons, Wayne and Brenda Gadwah of Pittsfield, NH, Wilman and Mary Gadwah of Bethlehem, NH; two daughters, Sandra and Francis Red McNamara of Littleton, NH, Sue and Conrad Farnham of Littleton, NH; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. His parents, his wife, three brothers, and one son, Warren C. Gawah, predeceased him.
SERVICES A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held on Friday, July 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem, NH.
