Warren H. Parker, 79, of New Boston, formerly of Littleton, VT and FL., passed away at his daughter’s home on August 29, 2024, with his family by his side.
He was born in Littleton on February 11, 1945, the son of Winfield and Nila (Warren) Parker. He was a graduate of Littleton High School, Class of 1963 and graduated from Springfield College in 1967 with a degree in Science and Physical Education. His first job as a physical education teacher was at Ashland High School along with being the basketball, baseball and cross country running coach. He was very proud of his accomplishments coaching his team to the 1970 Class S basketball championship and then the cross country running State Championship. He later became the athletic director at Belknap College in Center Harbor until they closed. During the summer school breaks, he followed in his father’s foot steps working as a tractor trailer driver. After his educational career, he became a full time driver, working for Decato Brothers, Lewis Express, St. Johnsbury Trucking, Carl Subler and Daniels Transportation. He retired from trucking in 2017 and moved to Florida. His lifelong and cherished friend, Jack Blaney lived in Florida and all they discussed was life in Littleton.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Brad Parker in 2020.
Family members include his daughter, Lisa Parker Magoon and her husband Bob of New Boston; two grandchildren, Rebecca Magoon and her fiancé Tommy of New Boston, and Ross Magoon and his partner Bethany of Swanzey. Five great grandchildren:, Cameron, Taylor, Connor, Reed, and Lane. Warren also leaves behind his wife, Bette Churchill Parker of Cornish, and her children along with several cousins.
A graveside service will take place on Thursday, September 5th at 1 PM in Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Granite VNA and hospice at https://www.granitevna.org/donate/.
