It's with great sadness that the family of Wayne Boutin announces his passing on May 27th, 2025, after having a massive heart attack. This loss was greatly unexpected and has come far too soon.
Wayne had a special energy that sparked up every room he entered, and the silence of his absence is thunderous. Whether it was family, friends or someone he met for 5 minutes, he left an impact on every human he came across. His number one priority in life was the connections he had with the people that he loved the most. His stories were endless, his laugh contagious and most of all his heart was full of gratitude for the memories he made.
Wayne was loved dearly as a Father, Partner, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Friend & Mentor.
Wayne had one of the sharpest senses of humor around. He was quick, clever, and always knew how to make people laugh. He was loud, boisterous and unapologetic. He had an uncanny ability to perfectly deliver a new joke on command. His wit was unmatched.
He was super hard working, highly intelligent and stubborn as a you know what…
His many passions included: playing golf, pool, fishing, darts, horseshoes, and cards. He loved the Beatles, the Patriots, campfires, late night ramblings, hunting down Fiddleheads and honest conversations. He loved playing the guitar, singing and craved time spent with family and lifelong friends. One of the highlights of his year was always the Boutin Bash family reunion— something he genuinely looked forward to and loved being a part of.
Wayne brought people together. He made things more fun, more relaxed, more real. His absence will be deeply felt by all of us.
Wayne was born on December 16, 1963, to Phillip Louis Boutin and Mary Victoria (Long) Boutin. He was born in Holy Family Hospital in Lawrence MA. He came home to live with his parents and four siblings in Salem NH where he spent his childhood. In school Wayne was a good student, social and active in wrestling, gymnastics and, probably not surprising to all of you, the debate club. Shortly after leaving school Wayne followed his wish to be warm and moved to Florida. He spent several years there working at the naval shipyard and acquiring a whole new group of friends and connections. The pull of home was strong, and he moved back to NH in 1995 where eventually he met and married Kelly Donovan. Of that union the love of his life was born, his daughter Julia Boutin. Over the next several decades Wayne built a life in NH which included becoming a father figure to several young people who he loved like his own and creating a busy home improvement business.
Wayne was predeceased by his father Phillip Boutin in 1990, his mother Mary (Long) Boutin in 2011. He also lost his sister Diane (Boutin) Lambias in 2018 and a few nieces and nephews over the past several years, all of whom he loved dearly.
Wayne is survived by Julia, to whom he was a devoted father, and his siblings Marlene (Mercier) Lebrasseur, Gary Boutin and Donna (Boutin) (Pica) DeLomba. He was also a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews, a caring cousin to so many of the Boutin Clan, and a loving and loyal partner to Terri Paige. His dogs Brady and Sheba are lost without him. He also leaves behind many friends who were so very important to him. His Tuesday pool league and his Thursday golf league were the highlight of his week. His loss is a huge blow to our family, and I know many of you are feeling the same deep sadness reading this.
There will be a celebration of Wayne’s life on August 23, 2025. He wanted to have one last party with you all. There will be a fire, with lots of conversations, some singing, and he specifically wanted some speeches, so start putting your thoughts together. The address will be posted on his Facebook page when the final details are settled.
Wayne would want all of you to hug your loved ones a little tighter, take the extra time to have a real conversation with your neighbor and linger in that moment that brings you joy a little longer.
