Wayne Randall Charette, 57 years of age, of Concord, NH died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by his wife, Patricia Meier of Concord, NH; two children, Ashley Charette of Atlanta, GA and son, Nicholas Charette of Concord, NH, his two adopted children, Rubin Jennings of Atlanta, GA and Kara Bell of Concord, NH; his two Grandchildren, Mr. Feeny and Oliver. He also leaves six siblings: Kathleen Madore of Casewell, ME, Patsy Berube of Sturbridge, MA, Rena Miller of Fremont, NH, Mel Damphousse of Salem, NH, Patrick Charette of Dumfries, VA and Ronald Charette of Monroe, CT as well as his beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Patrick & Rella Charette.
Wayne was born on January 8, 1961 in Presque Isle, Maine and remained there until a young adult. After obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine, he and his first wife and mother of his two beloved children, Laurisa (Murchison) Charette, moved to NH in 1983 and Wayne began his long career in the sales industry of window treatments. For the last 15 years, Wayne worked for Hunter Douglas as a Regional Sales Rep. Wayne always took great pride in his work and he considered fellow co-workers and his clients as his "Hunter Family".
While Wayne loved living in New Hampshire, he never forgot his Maine roots and the family and friends he made there. When his children were younger, he was involved with local youth sports. As an adult, he volunteered with helping the homeless, feeding the hungry, SPCA and the NH Colon Cancer Coalition annual Get Your Rear in Gear 5K fundraiser (mark your calendar for 9/8/2018). Always wanting to make someone smile or laugh with his bizarre humor reminds us of the help he provided to members of WOWW and the Liars Anonymous Club.
His love of nature was demonstrated by the flowers on his deck each year. His love for animals, being in the great (warm) outdoors, and the lovely island of Isla Mujeres where he was able to fulfill his remaining "bucket list" item of vacationing with his adult children.
Wayne had a love for life, family, friends and community. His motto, "Believe" will forever remind us to carry his legacy and "Pay it Forward." He will be missed as a being on this earth, but know he is not far. We can remember him best by keeping his spirit alive and living the way he did with compassion and love; it is what this world needs and the gift he leaves behind. Wayne found great solace and inspiration in the teachings of Dr. Wayne Dyer and, the book "The Secret" written by Rhonda Byrne. Perhaps they will give you comfort too.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 from 1 – 4pm at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Avenue, Concord NH.
