Wayne E. George, 68, of Hooksett died suddenly on January 1, 2006 at Elliot Hospital due to a heart attack. Mr. George was born on October 7, 1937 the son of the late Gene and Naomi (Walters) George. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Wayne grew up and was educated in Bethel, CT. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He then met and married Maryrose Miller in 1967 and the couple settled in Derry. He was a field service engineer for Peabody Engineering for over 30 years, finally retiring in 1999. Wayne was very active in the communities in which he resided and was a member of the American Legion as well as other fraternal organizations. Wayne remained busy through his retirement years, working part time at Harborside in Bedford where he enjoyed interacting with the residents. He was an avid sports enthusiast and an avid Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan. Family members include; his wife of 44 years, Maryrose (Miller) George; two daughters, Suellen Croteau of Hooksett and Stacey Skabo of Boscawen. IN HIS LIFE: Wayne cherished his granddaughters, Hilary and Jennifer as well as two sons-in-law, Mark Croteau and Sean Skabo. There will be a Memorial Reception on Thursday, January 5th from 10:00 until 11:00 with a Memorial Service at 11:00 at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street. Burial will be private in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 249 Canal Street, Manchester, NH 03101.
