Wayne Stribling

Wayne Scott Stribling, 72, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on December 24, 2025 at Elliot Hospital, with his loving wife and children at his side.

Born in Newfoundland, Canada, he is the son of the late Hugh Lee and Frances Stribling. Raised and educated in San Antonio, Texas, he was a graduate of Burbank High School.

After graduating high school, Wayne chose a path of service and joined the United States Army. Those four years shaped him into the strong, humble, and generous man so many came to love. They also brought him the greatest gift of his life meeting Dolores. From the moment their paths crossed, something in Wayne knew he had found his partner and the woman who would forever hold his heart

They married in 1975 and built their life together in Manchester, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that becomes the foundation for a family. Wayne worked hard, studied at New Hampshire College (now SNHU), and devoted many years to Fidelity, always with the quiet purpose of giving his family the stability and care they deserved.

Wayne’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by the everyday acts of love that leave the deepest imprint: his loyalty, his gentle humor, his generosity and devotion to the people he cherished. His legacy lives on in the family he raised, the love he shared with Dolores, and the countless moments of kindness that made him unforgettable.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Wayne placed his family at the very center of his life. Nothing brought him more happiness than the moments he shared with his three grandchildren. Whether they were splashing together at the lake, racing down slides at the water park, hiding behind furniture during spirited games of hide‑and‑seek, or gathering around the table for a competitive round of Risk, Wayne cherished every second.

He loved cheering on his grandchildren at their activities from soccer and basketball to watching them carve down the slopes on their snowboards. No matter how busy the day, Wayne always made time after every game, match, or event to greet his grandchildren with pride and affection. Those small moments of connection meant everything to him, and they became some of the memories he held closest to his heart. These simple adventures, filled with laughter, imagination, and togetherness, were treasures he carried with him always.

Wayne also found joy in the quiet beauty of the New Hampshire White Mountains, spending many winters skiing their familiar slopes. In more recent years, he embraced life’s slower comforts, settling into his favorite Lazy Boy with a captivating science‑fiction novel or savoring Mexican food and a fresh margarita with his family. He loved to explore, whether it meant a scenic drive through the gorgeous landscapes of New Hampshire, a trip across the country, or journeys to far‑off places around the world. Wherever he went, Wayne brought with him a sense of wonder, gratitude, and an appreciation for the beauty in every moment.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Dolores, with whom he shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. He leaves behind his daughter, Leah Stribling Green, and her husband, Brendan; his son, Kevin Stribling, and his wife, Brenda; and his three cherished grandchildren, Luke and Jack Stribling, and Amelia Green, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

He is also survived by his four siblings Gary Stribling Sr., Hughleen Malone, William “Craig” Stribling, and Leslie Nicol who will forever hold his memory close.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., on Tuesday, January 6 from 4:00-7:00PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the St. Anthony Parish, 172 Belmont St., on Wednesday, January 7 at 10:00AM followed by the Rite of Christian Burial at the Mt.
