Wesley E. Foote, 87, of Manchester, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.
Born in North Reading, MA, he was the son of the late Bertram and Mabel (Pendergrace) Foote. Raised and educated in New Hampshire, Wesley was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, Class of 1950. Wesley took great pride in providing for his family. For 47 years, he worked as a clerk for First National Grocery.
An honorably discharged veteran, Wesley proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army, 1952 -1955.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Wesley was the pillar of strength for his family. Fly fishing was Wesley's greatest passion. An avid outdoorsman, Wesley often fished for trout with his son, David. In his spare time, he expertly crafted thousands of fishing flies. In his younger years, Wesley enjoyed hunting and camping in the north country. On sunny days, he gingerly tended to his vegetable garden and his beloved roses. Wesley will be best remembered for his love of family.
Wesley is survived by his son, David Foote and wife Laura of Concord; two daughters, Donna L. Foote and wife Jean Gagnon of Chester, and Karen Wisniewski of Manchester; three grandchildren, Joseph Foote, Brooke Wisniewski, and Joshua Foote; brother, Donald Foote of Boscawen; two sisters, Marilyn Sherlund of MI and Nancy Roller of WA; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Doris (Collins) Foote; daughter, Joyce O'Connell; son-in-law, John Wisniewski; and four siblings.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Memorial Service will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Friday, September 28, at 11:00A.M. Followed by Military Honors. He will be laid to rest with his wife at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in a private service.
